Hospital Enrichment
Medical teams throughout the country applaud our
Hospital Enrichment Programs which place educational and entertainment
materials in
hospitals that care for children. In addition to the donations of toys,
books, electronics, dolls, and clothing that we provide to families, we
also host festive parties to encourage the children throughout the year.
For a child who faces lengthy periods of isolation or long weeks
recovering from treatment, seeing a member of their hospital staff
arrive
with a teddy bear or new DVD from Children’s Wish is often better than the
best medicine known to man!
Our festive parties are also heralded as being an important part of a
child’s overall treatment. Bringing a child out of their hospital room
and
into a playroom with other children who are experiencing hospitalizations
also, a natural support group is formed. Often, from the children,
the support spills over to parents and siblings, giving all members of the
family others who can sympathize with their struggle.
Our Hospital Enrichment Program is heralded by members of the medical
community as being among the most valuable services offered to
hospitalized children. Thanks to Children’s Wish, no child has to face
treatment with arms that ache for a special toy to comfort them during
their hospital stays. |
